Challans issued every month

The project has adopted a stretch on the Ring Road in New Delhi from Dhaula Kuan to Sarai Kale Khan to deter vehicles violating the traffic enforcements by Delhi Traffic Police including Red Light Violation and Over Speeding.

The model of TSMS is based on the technology deployed for detecting and recording violations in real time and back time. The radars and ANPR cameras installed at the traffic junctions, first detect the traffic violations such as red light jumping and over speeding.

The violation detection triggers a command to automatically capture the number plate of the violator’s vehicle. The vehicle number is sent to the data server at the TSMS Control Room at Delhi Traffic Police Headquarters, Todapur.

After manual confirmation is given by the operators at the TSMS Control Room, e-Challan is issued to the offender. This e-Challan is sent to the mobile number of the offender registered with the vehicle number.

The kinds of violations captured by TSMS are:

  • Red-Light Jumping,
  • Stop Line Crossing,
  • Over Speeding and
  • Wrong Side Driving
